THE HEIGHTS THEATER PRESENTS
A SILENT SUNDAY NIGHT EVENT
"HER SISTER FROM PARIS" (1925) RESTORED 35MM PRINT FROM THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS.
SUNDAY NOVEMBER 25, 2012. 7:30PM. 7:30PM.
ALL SEATS $10.00.
Advance tickets available

Our Silent Sunday night series this summer was SO popular that we have programmed two more classic and unique silent films for your viewing pleasure. Both will be projected from restored 35mm prints from THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS and of course will feature a live organ score accompaniment.

“HER SISTER FROM PARIS” (1925) – 35mm Presentation.

ALL SEATS $10.00

Starring CONSTANCE TALMADGE, RONALD COLMAN, GEORGE K. ARTHUR. Directed by SIDNEY FRANKLIN. Constance Talmadge, another sadly forgotten and underappreciated silent screen icon, stars in this fast paced comedy about a plain wife who pretends she is her sophisticated twin sister from Paris in an attempt to recover her husband's affections. It is a real treat to see both Constance Talmadge and Ronald Colman showing off their impeccable comic timing that they did not often get a chance to do.
This special screening will also include HARVEY GUSTAFSON at the Heights Wurlitzer as well as
“MARY, QUEEN OF TOTS” (1925) – HAL ROACH OUR GANG COMEDY.
35mm prints courtesy Library of Congress.

Bruce,

:o Great to see this film receive a live screening, now if TCM would just pick it up. They aired HER NIGHT OF ROMANCE a year ago, but not HER SISTER FROM PARIS. Article seems to confuse Constance and Norma?

No, it's Constance in Her Sister from Paris. The article is correct.

Great stories about the Talmadge sisters at the Buster Keaton Celebration last weekend. Thanks to Melissa Talmadge Cox for her charming reminiscences.

Rodney,

:? Huh, I know that it is Constance in HER SISTER FROM PARIS. I never said that it wasn't. The article implies they were also together in KIKI. That was Norma.

Hunh? Am I blind? I do not see any mention of Kiki. I'm not confused.

Are you talking about a different article than the one posted here? The movie they're describing is HER SISTER FROM PARIS, which is the movie they're showing. Neither Norma, nor KIKI, are mentioned. If you're bothered by "they did not often get a chance to do," that might be a very oblique reference to Constance and Ronald in HER NIGHT OF ROMANCE, why you'd think it was KIKI is unclear.

Rodney,

:? I'm sorry, it wasn't about KIKI. It was about the fact that Constance was considered the comedian, and Norma the dramatic actress. That is why the comment that you just spoke of, I felt mixed up Connie with Norma. It sounds as if they are saying that she (Constance), rarely did comedy? Maybe I read it wrong? Don't think so.

I see the point of confusion now. But I think it's saying that she rarely did comedy with Ronald Colman; which may be true even though Colman/Constance Talmadge films are currently well represented as a fraction of the available Constance Talmadge films.
