Interesting concept. How was the turnout?

About 35 cars, so maybe 100 people. They had a "technical problem" with the "Safety Last" print, so they showed "Girl Shy" instead. Unfortunately, it was shown without music at all. The film was entertaining, but overall the experience was somewhat disappointing. I wouldn't be averse to attending a silent at a drive-in again, but the presentation needs to be less haphazard to be more successful.

A "silent" silent movie at a drive-in does not sound very appealing. They needed to pull this off without any problems to be successful.A different movie with no sound is a big problem.

Plus, comedy in general - and Harold Lloyd in particular - aren't getting the best treatment in this setting. It's no different from watching at home alone. If they're going to be presented in public, they need to be shown to an actual audience for full-scale laughter to occur, not segregated into individual cubicles!
