Dare I hope that the DCP of THIEF OF BAGDAD means that a Blu-Ray is in the works?

Tim Lanza of the Cohen Film Collection has written on Nitrateville that THE THIEF OF BAGDAD is in production for a Blu-ray release. The last I heard, it will be available for purchase in February 2013.

Great news! Sorry, Jeffrey, I hadn't seen your original post about the Fairbanks series!

I saw the restoration of THIEF OF BAGDAD this past weekend, with the Carl Davis score, and it was all gorgeous. Loved every minute, and I'm going to try to go again before the run is over.

If this restoration is being screened anywhere near you, don't hestitate. You're in for a real treat.
