DOVER
The Dover Area Historical Society will present Bon-Ton Movie Night on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at the Dover History Museum House, 55 W. Blackwell St., at 7:30 p.m., featuring the 1932 film, "Pack Up Your Troubles," starring Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.
This classic comedy takes place in 1917 during World War I. While serving in the trenches of France, Laurel and Hardy befriend a man named Eddie Smith who is killed in action. After the war, Stan and Oliver venture to New York City where they attempt to reunite Eddie’s baby daughter with her rightful family. The fun begins when the boys discover just how many New Yorkers have the last name of Smith. The movie also stars Jacquie Lyn as Eddie’s baby and Tom Kennedy as the recruiting sergeant.
There is no charge for this program and ice cream, popcorn and soft drinks will be served. The museum house is air conditioned. For more information, call 973-361-3525.

Deng. I missed out on the event. Will there be any similar events happening in the near future? I love the fact that historical societies will show films in order to showcase a particular time period. I don't think a lot of people realize just how important film is to one's culture.

Since we're on the subject of history, I was curious to know if anyone had visited the fort worth cultural center in Oklahoma? If so, how did you like it? I'm taking a trip through the area and wanted to know if I should drop on by. Thanks, folks. I certainly hope to meet you all soon!

I would call the Dover Historical Society, at the number shown above and ask.
