A song for Norma Talmadge

PostFri Aug 26, 2011 9:58 am

Has anyone ever seen sheet music for the 1924 song "Norma Talmadge" written by Juan Montemayor Escamilla? I'm sure the lyrics (if any) are in Spanish, but it's interesting that the name of a living star was used for a composition. It was recorded by the Orquesta Internacional for Victor on 3 Mar. 1924 (both takes rejected) and again on 2 Apr. (take 5 issued on Vic 77506). Further discographical information:

Greta, et al:

This song (I can't tell you the genre, but the recording was done in Mexico), based on the information in the page, was obviously written as the melody for THE ETERNAL FLAME. Although that film was released in the United States in 1922, it seems that in Mexico and other regions was not shown until two years later.

Since I can't do it right now, due to the location where I'm writing, I'll later attempt to look for a sheet music cover.
