The Movie Queen (1910)

A nice medley of schlagers from the 1910 operetta "The Movie Queen," recorded in 1913. Rodney take note! The main tune here might make for a nice bed for a scene of a movie star making a personal appearance, or the appearance of a fictional movie star in a movie, etc.

Indeed it has. Not a lot I can do about that sadly, but hopefully they will repost it and I will run into it!

Hope you do--I want to find out what a schlagger is!

Moreover, I'm surprised to learn that "movie queen" had so early as 1910 gained currency, as I was under the impression that producers were at the time hoping to prevent their players from attaining the celebrity (& salaries) of famous stage actors.

A Schlager tune means a Hit Tune. In German Schlag literally means a hit or a blow, and popularly Ein Schlag means the topping of whipped cream you get on a dessert.
