Archive.org recently announced an ambitious project to digitize a huge number of 78 rpm records, restore/remaster the sound, and post them free of charge: The Great 78 Project. Audio engineer George Blood typically uses four different stylii in digitizing each record and leaves it to listeners to judge what version they prefer. Mr.Blood indicates his own preference for each track.
A new batch is being placed online and two albums of early film scores caught my attention. The first is a four-disc set for THE SONG OF BERNADETTE (1944) composed and conducted by Alfred Newman. Not long ago I acquired the set myself and digitized the sides, posting them on Youtube. But this new edition is most welcomed:

The second album is Dmitri Tiomkin's score for DUEL IN THE SUN (1946) performed by Arthur Fieldler and the Boston "pops" Orchestra.
