Death of Barrie Maxwell

PostThu Jul 12, 2012 7:22 am

Very sad to learn to today of the death of reviewer Barrie Maxwell over at "thedigitalbits."

He was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable reviewer of old Hollywood, and there are too few of these folk around today. One of the few reviewers that I looked forward to reading. How he stayed on top of dvd release news as well as he did, even while ill, I'll never know. Finis. It's a shame we can't click on an alternate ending.

I was really saddened to read this; I always looked forward to his reviews. He certainly kept on as long as he could.

Aw . . . Barrie Maxwell was such an enthusiastic reviewer and promoter of classic films. I'm really going to miss him and his contributions to The Digital Bits.
