Tweet AMPAS Acquires Ruby Slippers

Thanks to generous donors, the Academy acquired the best pair of the ruby slippers for its planned new museum:

That's wonderful news, and it will mean that all three known surviving pairs (setting aside the one that were stolen a few years ago) will be on display to the public. While it's well known that one pair are in the Smithsonian Institution at Washington DC, it seems to be a well-kept secret that another are in the Hollywood Museum. I was very surprised to find them there.
