Good review of a very good film. May Robson certainly deserved her Oscar nomination for this one. Odd there is no mention of the near remake, Lady by Choice (1934) in which Robson plays a similar character who gets "adopted" by fan dancer Carole Lombard. These two are a hoot together, and Robson's scene with the judge (Walter Connolly) are terrific. This was also a Columbia film.

Lady For A Day (1933) now in Blu-Ray

Just borrowed this from a local library---what a gorgeous transfer--compared to the original DVD release.

This movie just sizzles with witty, rapid-fire dialogue, and Ned Sparks steals every scene he's in with his over-the-top
deadpan sarcasm! I can just imagine a talkie with him teamed up with Buster Keaton--their deadpans would be outrageous.

Just ordered mine from DeepDiscount at $14.99....
