How dare a company issue a restored edition of a film that has been rotting in public domain for years and expect to be paid a fair price for there efforts! It's a crime to see films like in the Sennett collection, that fell into public domain years ago, be restored and then the producer have the gall to expect to paid for his efforts. Why can't I just wait for a fly by night company to rip-off their work and I can pay my $2.00 for the sub-standard DVD? Of course I'm being fallacious, but I'm always amazed at posting by folks that refuse to buy rare titles because:
1. It's in public domain (and should sold for next to nothing)
2. The producers had the gall to add a new copyright at the end of the film
3. The film was original available on DVD, but now on Blu-ray and collectors feel ripped off that the company would try to make additional profit from their film property.
I'm extremely grateful that so many rare titles have become available in the last 10 yeas.
Okay, I'm done with my rant. Goodnight William
