My Hubby records Saturday Night Live and skims through the skits he doesn't like.
Today he called me in to see a skit that was about 19 minuted into last night"s episode. It is set in France with all the characters speaking French. All of a sudden the yell "Oh, George", and the camera pans across the stage to Jean Dujardin. The crowd screams wildly. He pounds the Juke box, & the screen goes to B&W with a music track. All dialog is now on title cards. The characters begin to pull dances from "The ARtist".
Because this is SNL and it is set in France, the extra silliness comes out when Joan Of Arc joins in and declares for girl power, and an unnamed lineless creepy looking criple stage door johnny slinks in ( appearing to be Henri Toulouse Latreck - I can't spell).
Kristin Wigg comes out as Peppi Miller , and all we needed was a Jack Russel Terrier ( though how could they get anyone nearly as good as Uggie?).
It was a great tribute. SNL spoofs what their aduience will recognize. They believe enough of their audience has seen "The Artist" to get and enjoy the spoof. That is what made me happy.
This clip will prpbably show up on You Tube. Someone please link to it. We all need to see it.
I may actually be interested in the Oscars this year................

I know it's good - I wrote it myself!
