Please Help Identify this Silent Film

PostTue Aug 14, 2012 8:18 pm

An Arte French Documentary on Drugs features a scene from a silent film that I would like to find - the film in question occurs at 46 seconds in the following video:

It features one of the actors being given "Pillole Ricostituenti" (Italian for Tonic Pills) and the immediate effects of the drug.

Note - The other film that appears before this one is "Mystery of the Leaping Fish" (i'm not looking for that one)

I'm not one hundred percent sure, but the pills and the hunting sequence make me think it is a Polidor comedy from 1910 titled Pillole portentose .

The second clip is indeed from HAXAN, and the third one is from Pathé's BIGORNO FUME L'OPIUM (1914).

Thanks!

Any idea if Pathé's Bigorno Fume l'Opium (1914) and Pathe's Pillole portentose (1910) are available on dvd somewhere?

Has anyone ever ordered from KinoZon.tv? I see them listed there, but it looks like they have a lot of titles that I thought were lost films. Like Edison's Chinese Opium Den from 1894. How can that be? Is this site too good to be true?

I seriously doubt that Kinozon.tv really has all their listed titles in possession. I've made a research of some definitely lost films (like Murnau's 4 Devils or Fritz Lang's debut film "Halbblut" ) and they list them for sale !!! I guess they just copied the whole imdb database and claim to have it in possession. Impossible!

Does anyone know where I could get a hold of good copies of Pathé's Bigorno Fume l'Opium (1914) and Pathe's Pillole portentose (1910)? I don't think they have been officially released.
