Marion Davies' Santa Monica Beach House

Davies' beach "cottage" rivalled anything in Newport Beach, Rhode Island, an American version of Hearst Castle.

One of the guest houses at Marion's beach house was David Niven's famous bachelor pad, nicknamed 'Cirrhosis-By-The-Sea.' I'm still baffled at how many sources claim 'Cirrhosis-By-The-Sea' was Rosalind Russell's house in Beverly Hills, a different house that he rented in the later 30s. Niven's quite clear about it in his own books, and you'd think the fact that it's nowhere near the sea would be a dead giveaway, but nope ...
