In my never-cessing quest to see all the classics, I have just discovered a Murphy Bed in the immortal Doctor Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine. It shows up in Frankie Avalon's apartment.

Murphy Bed in the chase scene of "I'll Show You The Town" (1925). The bed also rotates on its center axis, making it doubly useful in the slapstick chase.

Actually I haven't seen that one in quite a while, so I don't recall it exactly, but I just found that among several stills I have from it is one showing Joan Blondell pushing a Murphy Bed up into the wall. (It is still #54-141).

Murphy Bed in the film noir TRY AND GET ME (1950) (AKA THE SOUND OF FURY). Miss Weatherwax puts up the murphy bed whenever someone comes to visit early in the morning.
