Did you ever notice the main floor of Roland Young's house in THE UNHOLY NIGHT is the same set as the main floor of the haunted Balfour residence in LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT, which in turn serves as the entrance hallway of Hobart Bosworth's mansion in A WOMAN OF AFFAIRS? Also, the upper floor of the Balfour place, where Chaney famously terrorizes Polly Moran in the bogus flashback, sure looks like Greta Garbo's hotel suite in LOVE. Then again, if main hallways are anything to go by, John Gilbert in THE BIG PARADE and William Haines in BROWN OF HARVARD apparently live in the very same house.
The casino in THE CARDBOARD LOVER, Lew Cody's house in THE BABY CYCLONE, and Joan Crawford's place in OUR DANCING DAUGHTERS all feature the same huge arched doorway. Lon Chaney in MR. WU and Nils Asther in WILD ORCHIDS clearly live in the same palace. All five places even employ the same reflective floor!
Gertrude Olmstead in MONTE CARLO and Aileen Pringle in THE MYSTIC are apparently staying in the exact same hotel room.
Later, in the sound era, the same giant staircase shows up in MATA HARI, Marion Davies' FIVE AND TEN, and Keaton's SIDEWALKS OF NEW YORK.
It's a small world after all...
