Oh, and playing Watson's girlfriend in this one ??? A lady called Oona Chaplin.....
.

I saw Oona Chaplin in the BBC's The Hour, and she was terrific. And gorgeous. Can't wait to see her in the second season of Sherlock.

Unfortunately, it's a pretty small, and pretty thankless role, but hey.....now is it just me, but in that portrait pic.....around the eyes, there's a real resemblance to the old man...???
I could use some digital restoration myself...

Just burned through the three newest episodes, still laughing at the part where Sherlock is banned by Watson from playing Cluedo (Clue to us North Americans) because he insists the only solution that makes sense is that the victim killed himself (presumably in the library with a pipe wrench).

Off topic, but I love this exchange in a Charles Ludlam play:

"The greatest murder mystery of all- Hamlet"

"yes- the detective discovers his own guilt!"

She's also in a scene cut from Michael Clayton; the scene is on the dvd.

For you Jennifer Ehle fans: she's in Steven Soderbergh's Contagion along with just about everyone else. No display of gorgeous figure, though, most of the time she's in a 4th level CDC antiviral suit. It's quite a good film, an unsensational treatment of a sensational subject.

Another Ehle sighting: she has a sizable role in Zero Dark Thirty.

You know, around the eyes she does look like Robert Downey.

Oona Chaplin has a supporting role in Season 2 of Game of Thrones. I assume she'll be in some episodes of Season 3, too.
