I'm sure not. Silent movies are great and I love the fact that you're getting into them!

And I totally agree with your commentary too. If you're getting into silent movies, the last thing you need is someone trying to block you from getting into them or being a bully. If you have any questions I for one will be glad to help answer them if I can. Don't worry about whether or not they're "stupid" questions. If you don't know then it's not a stupid question as far as I'm concerned.

Ditto; do what viewing you can, and what reading you can; ask questions, or ask for recommendations for new reading/viewing. There are some real heavyweight experts here, but also quite a few still finding stuff out....of course, the really heavyweight experts know they don't everything, and love the enthusiasm of a newbie. We were all of us newbies once; only some of us remember how daunting it can be.
