Tweet Spam Attack/Outage

So for an hour or so, our hosting co. took down the site because of a spam attack from a particular address. (Your moderators spend more time than you'd know warding off various forms of Internet detritus.) Unfortunately their automatic message makes it sound like I didn't pay the bill, which is not true! Anyway, we're back now.

When I know about something like this, I will put a message up at the Facebook NitrateVille page and on alt.movies.silent (the irony there is noted) telling you what I know. I'm very happy with this hosting co. and they have done a great job in minimizing outages and fixing problems that arise as quickly and with as little downtime as possible.

Thank you and all the others for all the work you do.

had posted any information. Thanks for doing so.

There may be another one of these, we went down last night. The hosting company upped the bandwidth but it's certainly possible we will go down again at some point this weekend. Nothing will be lost...

Happened again, but back, obviously. Investigating superior spam defenses is now on my to-do list...

Glad to see you're back up and running. One good thing, for me anyway...I didn't know you had a facebook page. I do now! Thanks from me too for all the work you do!

Please don't send anyone to alt.movies.silent - I just went there and it has become an unmoderated block of spam. The few people who continue to post there have only themselves to blame.
