Warner and MGM 1925-1933 press books?

PostTue Jun 19, 2012 10:44 pm

Hello,

First post, so bear with me. I am trying to see if anyone might know of who, or where, I might find some original 1927-1933 MGM pressbooks?

Seeking ones such as:

1. "Speedway" (MGM, 1929)
2. "So This Is College" (MGM, 1929)
3. "Thunder" (MGM, 1929)
4. "Buttons" (MGM, 1927)
5. "Broadway Melody" (MGM, 1929)

Looking for a lot of MGM titles and a few Warner, First National, Goldwyn, and Lewis J. Selznick ones as well.

Thank you,

Welcome, Daniel, and great question too. I would also be interested knowing if there's an online resource for vintage press books similar to the growing online sites for fan magazines. I have two Warners press books for DISRAELI (1929) and SILVER DOLLAR (1933) that I intend to scan and post at some point. I also have slightly later ones for ANTHONY ADVERSE (1936) and Fox's HOLD THAT CO-ED (1938).

You might want to check online catalogs for the New YOrk Public Library, Library of Congress, and the Margaret Herrick Library. I know the Herrick has original pressbooks.

Are you looking to own them or use the materials inside for research?

Look on worldcat.org, they have connections to libraries across the world.
