I had a moment like that recently, rewatching the new, much-improved-as-a-movie Star Trek. As I'm sure everyone knows, Sulu is played by John Cho, who was, of course, Harold in the Harold and Kumar films. (Stolen by Neil Patrick Harris, I have to say.) And there's a shot on the bridge where I swore it was Kal Penn, who was, of course, Kumar. It seemed a likely cameo gag and I did a search online-- and I was not the only person who thought Kumar had beamed aboard. But it's not him, you can see that in other shots. Still does look like him in that first shot, though.
In other news, Alice Cooper is not the kid who played the Beaver, grown up.
