There's a poster for an early "Trip to the Moon"-type film that has been on eBay for over a year. IIRC, it began at $1 million, then slowly dropped in price to $750K, then $500k... It still pops up every now and then, but the seller still thinks it's worth more than waterfront property on the Pacific!
I always get a chuckle from non-film people who find an old 8mm Blackhawk print of POTO in their grandmother's attic, and think it's "incredibly rare. There aren't many copies of this film in existence."
On the other hand, OOP videos can fetch quite a bit of money on eBay, especially if the film hasn't been released on DVD. Last year, I paid through the NOSE for a 20 year old ex-rental video of THE TORTURE CHAMBER OF DR. SADISM. Now I learn it's coming out on DVD this summer.
