Between the Cobourg and Port Hope public libraries, a fine roster of films can be seen, with some really great classic titles - and free admission.
In Cobourg (200 Ontario St.), the Monday Movies series continues, organized to rotate among Chris Worsnop's favourite genres - action, science fiction, war and westerns, including:
May 12 - The General (1927, starring Buster Keaton) is one of the deadpan comedian's greatest achievements, the story of a Southern Civil war soldier who steals a locomotive and leads Union troops on a merry chase. A short subject will be shown with this feature.
All films begin at 2 p.m. in the Rotary Room and admission is free, though a small donation to help with the cost of refreshments is welcome. For more information, call 905-372-9271.
