Gabriel Thibaudeau and the music students of Academie Notre Dame in Dalhousie are making music to accompany an old silent film by the famous comedy duo of Laurel and Hardy. To achieve this difficult task, they have called upon the expertise of pianist Gabriel Thibaudeau, a specialist in the area who notably put music to the famous silent film The Phantom of the Opera, by cineaste Julian Rupert, a classic of the silent genre. This is the first time that he will be working with a primary school group, but he told La Voix du Restigouche that he found the students to be very interested even though some of the youngsters had never seen a silent film before.
In all, 21 students from Grades 4 to 8 will participate. On June 8, the results will be shown at LER Theatre in Dalhousie.
