Poster Restoration

PostTue Dec 07, 2010 6:23 pm

I recently purchased a one-sheet poster from the Ruth Chatterton film "Unfaithful" (1931). It is pretty fragile and has separated along most of the fold lines, but the colors and image are still strong (and I got a good deal on it). I want to have it linen backed and maybe get some restoration work done. There isnt much wrong with it as far as staining goes, just the usual age along the fold lines. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a reputable company to do my mounting and restoration work. I live in WV so I know I'm going to have to send it away to be done, but was curious to know who some people on this board use.

I can highly recommend Chris Cloutier, who operates Poster Fix. Very reasonable, quality work, and based in Brooklyn. He has done about a dozen for me, each needing varying degrees of restoration.

His email is chris@posterfix.com

And website with examples of his work at: www.Posterfix.com

Good luck!
