The catalogue for the second Debbie Reynolds auction has now been made public (see
http://www.icollector.com/Debbie-Reynolds-The-Auction-Part-II_as21423).
There are several more lots of interest to silent and early talkie fans this time around - several items from Mary Pickford's estate, as well as a couple of later-career costumes from both Mary and Doug Sr, and some vintage equipment including Chaplin's silent-era Bell & Howell camera.
Of the costumes, there are only a few major productions represented (including a large number from 'The Pirate' and 'Show Boat') but the majority are from minor or lesser productions, though there are a couple of nice things on offer for the real afficionadoes (if I had a spare grand I wouldn't mind owning one of Norah's 'Thin Man' jackets).
There's also some set-dressings (chandeliers, tables, etc) which give an interesting impression of how long some of these things kicked around in the MGM prop department - plenty of items appeared in productions spanning twenty or thirty years.
The publicity from the first auction could push the prices up, but on the other hand, who knows - this could be your only chance to own a vintage Edith Head or Adrian.
