To be honest, I'd love to bring it out this year in memory of Rusty, but I just don't know. After The Dragon Painter dvd, we have our next theatrical release which is THE EXILES from 1961 -- premiering in Berlin next week.

I know this isn't the answer anyone wants to hear and no one will like it, but I just need to be honest. We're shorthanded in staff (down to just Amy and I for the next couple of months) and working hard on helping Charles Burnett make another film. Anyone who has seen KILLER OF SHEEP, TO SLEEP WITH ANGER and NIGHTJOHN might understand why this is a priority.

The TCM deal is the reason why we produced the Chase program and I'm very happy that they are played fairly frequently. I'd like to think that when the Killer of Sheep and I am Cuba dvd money comes in, we'll have something extra to produce some of our DVD pet projects like Chase and Marcel Ophuls. (They used to perform together in Vaudeville. I swear...)

I imagine Dennis will share the details, but I just read a post by him on another board that stated this disc could be out as early as this fall.

We actually do have a DVD master and cover work for Cut to the Chase. It's just a matter of getting it done, but I suspect it will be out by fall as well.

Great news!

WOW. I can't believe it's been over four years since I asked about this. And now, it appears the dream I've been Chaseing is about to come true, at long last, thanks to the good Mr. Doros and his crew. Dennis, seriously, thank you so SO much for undertaking all these labours of love for us film enthusiasts. I'm a proud owner of many a wonderful Milestone release, and I'll be adding this one to my collection on street date.

Can we see the artwork, pretty please with cream and sugar on it?

And Gaucho, thanks for the fantastic news! Great days for silent film fans, I tell ya, especially with the new Pickford stuff coming up as well! Can't wait to get that remastered SPARROWS...

Very welcome news for Chase fans. I'm hoping it will be out before the Columbia shorts, but it's all good.

Just to be nice, I've loaded the new artwork for this and the Mary Pickford box set up on our brand-new website coming out in the next day or so. It's www.milestonefilms.com of course. Keep on the lookout for it -- I'm entering back in the titles as fast as I can.

Is Andrea Edmonds involved in any capacity with this Charley Chase project, Dennis?
I remember her telling me years ago how she was working on such a venture.

Denis,

This link does not work. All I get is a message that says that the site is down and being re-designed? :(

We have just one more major fix to make and then the site will be up. To create a new website with 150 or so pages in just ten days took a lot of overtime from our IT guy along with Amy and I plugging in the photos and text at nights. (That you NCIS -- it was perfect background noise.) We're hoping that one fix is done today or tomorrow but it might be Monday.

Trust me -- when it goes up, we'll be sending out emails to our mailing list and announcing it everywhere.

Dennis, I love the cover art, but please tell me the $360.00 asking price is a typo, and that you meant to list it for $36.00...otherwise I fear I shall have to live without this set...

Well, actually, it's not a typo. But if you go to the formats, you'll see that the price is for Institutions and it comes with PPR and a 3-year streaming license. When the home DVD comes out, it will be much, much cheaper of course!

That's great news, but nobody would infer that by looking at the item listing; all it says is the price, and that it's a DVD, with no mention that the price is for institutions and includes a 3-year streaming license. Unless I missed something, of course.

I mean, I believe ya and all, but it might be a good idea to indicate somewhere that $360 ain't the price us collectors will be paying. :-)

One of the new site's glitches. It was there. It's not anymore. We'll get it fixed.

Sounds good. Glitches aside, I love the new site design!
