Word. I listen to NPR from time to time, and caught AIR being interviewed on several shows, including "World Café," plugging the film and their earlier work. One of their previous recordings,
Moon Safari, has a lunar theme as well, one reason I believe that they were chosen. On the radio, the musicians were coherent, intelligent, and showed their respect and admiration for the film. They also reached quite an audience of radio listeners who would otherwise not have heard about the new restoration.
Let the record show that when I scored
Bardelys the Magnificent, I scored no national (let alone international) radio interviews, despite sending out some feelers -- just a local spot on Colorado Public Radio. The Alloy Orchestra has also done pretty well along these lines, and gives good radio too.
