There is a film series scheduled for April and May at the Getty Center, being shown in conjunction with their exhibition of Herb Ritts's photography. The announcement doesn't say who will be playing for The Sheik or Pandora's Box, might that be Michael Mortilla?

Many of Herb Ritts's photographs recall the glamour of Hollywood's golden age, a time when celebrities were larger than life: flawless and impeccable. Ritts's relationship with his subjects echoes that of the film director who discovers the remarkable qualities of an actor in his or her star-making role. When it comes to defining a legend, audiences know it when they see it. These films comment on notions of gender and sexuality, and, like Ritts's iconic photographs, they offer haunting and sensual images that reflect our time.
All films are screened in 35 mm unless otherwise noted in the Harold M. Williams Auditorium. Free; reservations required. Call (310)440-7300 or use the "Make Reservation" buttons below.
