Brigitte Helm had a rough time, too.
Kaum hatte Hutter die Brücke überschritten, da ergriffen ihn die unheimlichen Gesichte, von denen er mir oft erzählt hat.

Buster fractured his neck filming Sherlock Jr. and didn't even realize it until several years later.

Not to mention the near-death experience with the house front in Steamboat Bill, Jr. What amazes me as well is how brief the stunt is - maybe a few seconds? and it's on to the rest of the conclusion of the film.

Harold and the "prop" bomb which removed part of his hand. Could've been worse.

W C FIELDS

W.C. Fields broke his neck during the production. He was to ride a bicycle up a ramp into the back of a truck (that was slowly moving backwards). He misjudged the approach and went under the truck, banging his head on the undercarriage and breaking his neck. John Sinclair, his stunt double at the time, rushed under the moving vehicle and pulled Fields to safety
