Older news but important (at least to Our Gang fans).

Examining the article, there are no still photos of Norman
Chaney shown. A freeze frame is the only still image of
Chaney.

The article does include a photo of Chaney walking with other Our Gang co-stars.
But there is, unfortunately, also one in which they erroneously identify Joe Cobb as Norman Chaney.

Sadly, no. That's Joe Cobb, too.

You're right. What was I thinking? I guess the dumb mistake in the caption identifying Joe as Norman distracted me!

Looks like they only raised $3,081 with no time remaining. About enough to buy a tomb stone, IMHO.

I understand funds are being raised for Mickey Daniels' grave.

Anyone know what site they are doing the fundraising from? I'd like to donate.

I talked with Bob Satterfield about that when I saw him a few days ago. I'll be seeing him again in a couple weeks and can ask for more details if no one else provides them first.

They're going to be able to use that amount to get a decent stone for Norman and his mother.
But unfortunately, reportedly the cemetery is not allowing anything large or elaborate. Still, it'll be a long overdue and well-deserved tribute to the popular Our Gang star.

Incoming email problem is fixed. It was a bit more involved than just purging old emails, but it's all set now.

Hi everybody,

This is Mikal. I'm the one running the fundraising campaign for Norman Chaney. Yes, it's true, any leftover funds are going toward getting a head stone for Mickey Daniels. As asked by someone else in this thread, if you still want to donate, you can either use paypal or send us a check or money order. Also, someone here mentioned Bob Satterfield. Bob worked with me on this campaign, so you can contact him if you want to verify who I am.

Right now, we're waiting for head stones for both Norman and his mother Carolyn to be made. His mother is also buried in an unmarked grave, right next to him. We're probably going to have a public unveiling at Baltimore Cemetery in early October, but I haven't announced the date yet.

In the meantime, you can follow the campaign at the following URLs, which I update whenever there is something to say!

http://facebook.com/NormanChubbyChaney

http://twitter.com/ChubbyChaney

http://NormanChaney.com (coming soon)

And here's my personal facebook page, in case you want to see who I am:

P.S. Many articles on the campaign re-posted incorrect info, including photos of Joe Cobb instead of Norman, and incorrectly stating that Joe Cobb "played the part of Chubby before Norman". I've tried to contact them to update their info, but most don't seem to care or even respond. The first major article was written by The Baltimore Sun, here: http://www.baltimoresun.com/features/ba ... 8782.story
