Here are some selected photos from our wonderful weekend at the 12th Annual Kansas Silent Film Festival!!!! Very Happy

My wife with Me and two other volunteers; Jane Bartholomew from Kansas City, and Karl Mischler, from New York City!

Dr Marvin Faulwell, the Master organist, who accompanied many of the silent films. He has worked with the Festival all 12 years! He also composed a musical score for The Phantom of the Opera (1925).

Greg Foreman and his wife Melodie. He is the other organist who accompanies the films.

Here is Karl again, always clowning around and being goofy! Razz

Denise Morrison; Bill Shaffer; Myself, and Karl. Denise introduces each silent film and adds commentary and bits of trivia about each film, at its conclusion. Bill is the President of the Film Festival.

Rodney Sauer and Brian Collins of The Mont-Alto Motion Picture Orchestra, conversing with a guest. Mont-Alto has produced scores for numerous silent films and they have quite an abundance of DVDs and CDs available! They, too, accompany the silent films at each year's festival.

These next two photos are items from the private collection of Bruce Calvert.

All five members of the Mont-Alto Motion Picture Orchestra: Rodney Sauer, pianist; Brett Swenson, violinist; Dawn Kramer, trumpet; Brian Collins, clarinetist; and David Short (in the rear), bass.

The theater Saturday evening.

Each performer taking final bows at the conclusion of Saturday night's feature. Bob Keckeisen is the person standing between Marvin and Greg (second from right). He is the principal percussionist at each year's festival.

Thanks for the pics, Larry. A Wichita friend reading the board spotted an old friend of ours in the shot labeled "The theater Saturday evening." Cool and good to see a good turnout.

There's more photos on the KSFF website now, including some photos that Larry took. They even provided links back to Nitrateville for the festival reviews that Larry and I posted here.
