Hollywood Bowl - 1938 Walter Lantz/Universal
The Powerhouse/Indicator(UK) set "Mae West in Hollywood" contains an extra - the Walter Lantz "Cartune Comedy" HOLLYWOOD BOWL. A series of caricatures of notable film/radio stars participate in a music fest. Below I list who I think the caricatures represent in order of appearance in this short film...

Re: Criterion Releases
The Fellini BD box set contains many extras, but I do not see listed some
material which was included on the previously released individual BD discs.
Has anyone put together a list for each of the included films of what NEW extras are
included, and which OLD extras have been omitted ??????
Thanks!

Re: Paul Robeson films
Thanks for the replies. I have learned that the old KINO company issued only 1 DVD of Robeson films containing 2 of the 4 films they released on VHS. The non-DVD films remained available only on VHS. Information suggesting there was to be a second DVD is a misreading of the DVD insert. Kino Lorber c...

Paul Robeson films
The recent UK Studiocanal BD release of THE PROUD VALLEY (beautifully done, nice extras) sent me looking for what else is available, and raised a question about whether a particular DVD actually was released. I list below the releases I am aware of and hope list members will supply missing informati...

Re: any good books on early, preHollywood cinema?1890s - 190

Re: any good books on early, preHollywood cinema?1890s - 190
MANY years ago I read THE LIVLIEST ART (Arthur Knight), do not remember any detail, but recall it as informative. One of the books listed in many lists of source material is Terry Ramsaye's A MILLION AND ONE NIGHTS, with the caveat that dates and facts are not precisely accurate. I think I obtained ...

Ida Lupino in THE LOVE RACE
Ida Lupino appeared in a half dozen British films before coming to the US. The first "The Love Race" was an UNCREDITED role/extra. I believe she would be one of the guests in a couple of party scenes where the guests are dancing. The film is available from the UK on a DVD issued by NETWORK, which I ...
