Re: PATTY DUKE DEAD

Considering that Schallert's period of fatherhood alone lasted long enough to be Nancy Drew's dad as well, he may well live to 150. And he had Trouble With Tribbles, so how many more years would that give him? Schallert goes back to adult roles even earlier; he had the recurring role as the exasper...

Thanks very much Christine, I'm not in California but I see that the website at the Niles Essanay Museum is selling autographed copies of "Whatever Happened to Baby Peggy" in their store, so I just ordered one. Thanks again.

Who would guess that Hedda Hopper would get top billing over Buster ! Thanks much, I will have to record the 5:30 AM show...

Re: Abe Vigoda passes at 94

After all the false reports of his death over the years (started by an erroneous article printed when the show Barney Miller, in which he had acted, ended), it's at least good to know that he made it to 94 and apparently died peacefully.
Rest in peace Mr. Vigoda

Re: It's the 8th Annual "Watch That Movie Night," Fri Jan. 2

I watched the Flicker Alley set of Victory with The Wicked Darling (both 1919), which I purchased last November. Both films were excellent and also gave me the idea of what it was like to watch Lon Chaney just as he was apparently on the verge of moving from being a supporting player to a star. It w...

Re: You just got a gift card - what silent DVD would you buy

This is just me, and I've already pre-ordered it but it would be "L'Inhumaine" from Flickr Alley, mainly because I once saw part of it many years ago and have been wanting very much to see it ever since. I might have gone for the Gillette Sherlock Holmes, but I gave it to a relative as a gift and he...

I've seen both The Wind and Greed at MoMA in New York, though granted a long time ago. I imagine they still have both available. I've seen The Crowd also, but that might have been on TCM.

Rosemary, glad you enjoyed the DVD and thanks for posting an Amazon review. A number of Baby Peggy shorts have been restored by UCLA, and one or two have recently surfaced at Gosfilmofond.
