The BF I do not say this film is lost. There are 5 votes for it on IMDb.This site did not say it is lost nor no mention of it being lost on Wikipedia. So it is likely to be genuine.

The film created great controversy here. The veterans of the Burma campaign were most indignant that they did not treat POWs in the way depicted in the film.

I had the great fortune to see him on stage as Bud Flanagan in Underneath The Arches.Ches Allen came on stage and sang the title number with him..I shared his love of Max Miller.Don't know if Nitratevillians would get the humour..I know a few from the blue book.

Re: The Telephone in Silent Films

Now this isn't a silent film. However Lights of New York 1928 was the first all talking picture. In many scenes a telephone is standing on a table surrounded by the actors. The phone is in actual fact the microphone. It is used in the course of the film.I think it must be the first use of the phrase"tak...

Nitrate film is self combustible,so no precautions can eliminate fire risk, not is there any guaranteed way to put the fire out.

Yes I had seen that.Recorded 11 titles off it this week. Many films not been shown for 20 or 30 years.
TIM has recently shown 4 of the Paramount Marxes recently but still feels like a second run cinema always showing B films.Bit like Retro movies!
