The Chicken 1928
Does anyone know if this short comedy title is available anywhere or is it rare, lost, etc? I acquired the 35 mm version of this title but am having the media group I use clean film and check if it is complete or not. This was one of the 29 Smith Family short comedies that Sennett put out with McKee...

At least you have a few feet that are in good shape and may be very rare. Good luck with the project and BTW on your other thread a very cool vintage projector .

Re: A Regiment of Two, Short Comedy, Vitagraph Studios 1913
Good luck on that, but perhaps someway to separate stickiness with a film solution if emulsion still on film. I have some old nitrate of my grandfather's that was so bad that it just had a clear frame section due emulsions sticking to one side and leaving the other side completely clear without imag...

Hi Josh, Check with Debbenham group for nitrate transfer, cleaning, and potential restoration depending how stuck together some of the film you have is. They may or may not be able to help you. They can transfer to hard drive, DVD R, or Blue Ray so you can actually watch what you have. http://www.my...

I have the 16 mm version of the Galloping Gertie aka Narrows Bridge Collapse 1940 on 16 mm and the footage is intense if you ever get to see it. The film was shown over and over again in our Tacoma school districts physics classrooms showing torsional wave oscillation patterns and the film drove the...

Re: King Vidor's "Proud Flesh" (1925)? Anyone have this?
IF Eastman and UCLA have copies of this title, have you inquired into whether the VHS version that UCLA can be viewed in person at the Powell Library on campus? I was fortunate to be able to view a 1925 title on vhs about 2 summers ago when I was in LA. Wonder what UCLA has on videoreel and/on vhs i...

Re: Silent Era Image ID Questions
Hi Fred,
For photo #6 (person with left monocle and dog) can you mention what is written at the very bottom of this still to help ID person in film.
The portion that I can read is "Mabel this is me on the right......"
Thanks,
Dana

She did mention that the production was a kickstarter.
She also mentioned all 3 of the recent Davis restorations including this one that Undercrank had available.
Good to see film again. It was well done.

Re: DVD Give Away - Hallroom Boys
Hi Mike,
Is the same DVD as on your ebay store? Or did you add two titles to the DVD? DVD on ebay says 14 films on 3 DVD's so have you added two more and rereleased another Hallroom Boys?
Thanks in advance,
Dana

Glad to see someone else was able to view The Rainbow Trail 1925. Eastman Archives has probably the only 35 mm print of this film that I know of. https://collections.eastman.org/objects/70601/the-rainbow-trail?ctx=aaaa78d5-4db4-4d97-a7f5-63c5a5b08c98&idx=1 The 1918 films you mention with Farnum both...

I would have tried to save: Cleopatra 1917 Camille 1917 She Devil 1918 Last of the Duanes 1919 The Wilderness Trail 1919 The Rainbow Trail 1925 (a better copy than what is available on 16 mm) Black Jack 1927* Fox Movietone Follies 1929* and any other mix films that I could carry before the fire star...

Re: 12/6 - Los Angeles, CA - Dawson City: Frozen Time
I was able to rent this for a few bucks and watch it last nite. I like the actual silent film footage of several titles from the cache of nitrate found that the documentary uses throughout as well as the multitude of stills, but can see that some may not appreciate the style without a narrator and t...

Re: What's The Last Silent Movie You Watched? [2019]
It's been about twenty-five years since I've screened "Riders of the Purple Sage" (1925) with Tom Mix. I used to have a beat up, very washed out VHS tape which I gave away several years ago. I recently found a half-way decent DVD (once tinted, it would appear, though now totally B & W), and I watch...

Watched a fun little show that probably was made for the male youngsters of the late 20's, "Marked Money" (1928), with Frank "Junior" Coughlan, Jr., Tom Keene (billed as George Duryea), Tom Kennedy, Bert Woodruff, Virginia Bradford, Maurice Black, and Jack Richardson. Mark Hamilton also appears in ...
