Hoping that these short comedies are as good as Crushed 1924. Also In.
Thanks!

Re: Actress ID
Sure looks like Gertrude Astor who plays Gladys in the film. If it is her, she was 5'7" tall unlike Molly Malone at barely 5'.
You can also see Gertrude Astor opposite Mark Hamilton in the comedy short "Dizzy Daddies" 1926.

What is the name of the "obscure performer"? A Name search may be better than title search.

Re: Hallroom Boys 3 DVD set - 14 titles
I also acquired this dvd and agree. I recall discussing the story behind the original 9.5 mm European gauge prints when I contacted Grahame Newnham in UK via email when doing some research on Jimmie Adams comedies. It seems he provided his 9.5 mm prints at one time to create a DVD set a few years ba...

Re: Cohen Film Collection pdf
That is a great point. I read that when Cohen announced the acquisition of Douris UK holdings in 2011 they said their goal was to preserve and release many of the 700 titles. I would also like to see some of the Talmadge films released for either Norma or Connie to increase the public's awareness of...

Re: LOC Process to restore the film The Dove (1927)
I was able to visit today the Moving Image Section Department at the Library of Congress (James Madison Building 101) 6th floor blue section. I arrived in the am and had two large reels of The Dove 1927 waiting for me in the viewing room. I was able to watch on Steenbeck Flat viewer all 4 reels that...

Re: Nitrate Clips #2
Congrats tg on your nitrate discoveries. AFI (1921-1930) has a lot of Drew actors/actresses with that last name. Unclear if any of them are duplicates and a few of these may be completely different performers. They have Anne Drew, C.P. Drew, Cora Drew, Dorothy Drew, Florence Drew, Jerry Drew, Lillia...

The Calendar Girl (1917). Juliette Day (Mildred Manning aka "Middy") , Cora Drew ( Mrs. Manning). See AFI Catalog page 117 for 1911-1920 . AFI has the whole description of this 5 reel comedy-drama. Clarissa Selwynne plays Madame Lizette. I think the gentleman with his arm around the girl with the ha...

Did you say you needed just scans of stills or the actual still photo (whether reprint or original) on Davis?
Thanks.

Re: Seattle: EYES OF THE TOTEM (1926)
Just returned from Rialto in Tacoma. Had to see this film again as it was better the second time around. How did your event at Hollywood Theatre in Portland turn out? Did you have a good turn out? Heard about the event, but could not drive down from Seattle area.
Thanks,

HI Joe, If you are referring to an elevator that uses counterbalanced weight in the other compartment to go down while people in the opposing elevator go up from a lower level than yes I did see this type of elevator recently in a Jimmie Adams comedy. I think it was Holy Smoke 1921. Or perhaps this ...
