The gent who runs Grapevine also has been winning many one and two reelers on 16mm on eBay lately. All of it looks like great material for DVD release. The latest one he outbid me on he actually got really cheap. Al Christie in "FOR SADIES SAKE" http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&ite...

Nice photo.

Is that a 8x10, postcard format photo or snapshot picture on paper?

Folks at http://www.silentcomedians.com/forum/index.php may know who the other people are.

Beware when bidding on this. The seller is Frank Buono, who has a well-deserved reputation for selling junk 16mm films. Betty Compson personal appearance event! Frame close ups.

A roll of theater event announcements arrived in the mail today. Included is an ad for Betty Compson's personal appearance on September 27 - 28, Wednesday - Thursday, at the Drake Theatre, Oil City, PA. I don't know what year Sept 27 - 28 fell on Wed - Thurs but I assume it is 1933 because that is w...

I just had a roll of early 1930s theater event snipes come in the mail. Can anyone help me find out where it came from? The eBay seller is in Conneaut, Ohio. Three theatres from the Harris chain are indicated. Drake, Latonia and Lyric theatres. Oil City and Cincinnati are mentioned. The date codes o...

If you are going to collect old nitrate just remember a few things. Don't put them near any kind of heat source. Especially those that puts out more than 100 degrees. If you smell any thing unusual, stop everything. You and your house are NOT Superman. Move that reel to another part of the room. Kee...

Intertitles that have hand prints on them or touched up.

This type of stuff may be touched up for home video but I've noticed some flaws in intertitles while viewing up close at theatres. This isn't a big deal to me and I'm probably the only one to notice it. For example, THE LAST COMMAND has one intertitle card with finger print marks on it and another w...
