I recently finished the Warren William bio, and it was definitely worth the read and the money. Extremely neglected actor deserves this book! I finished only this morning another that's not on the list, but it may hold some interest, too: More than a Dream: Re-Discovering the Life and Films of Vilma...

The WB Archive releases of Golden Dawn and Madam Satan , natch! An ample supply of your preferred tipple, to be applied while watch...

Whenever this topic comes up, I am always reminded of William Shakespeare. He was enormously popular in his writing days - and acting days - but his plays faded after about 75 years. The poet laureate, Colley Cibber (anybody remember this guy??!!), re-wrote many of his plays about 100 years later, a...

Can Anyone Answer This?

Can anyone tell me what locations might have either of Bogart's early films "A Devil with Women" (1930) or "Body and Soul" (1931)? LOC doesn't list them, although that doesn't mean they don't have them. The first film actually stars Victor McLaglen and the second Charles Farrell. I'm wondering what ...

Yes, thank you! I can't stand the new format, plus it gets rid of a lot of information unless you press certain buttons to get all of them!! Stupid! Not a good plan at all.

Actually, Doris Kenyon was in some decent sound films. She's awful in "Interference" (1928), about the only character who hadn't quite learned sound technique in this early squeaker, but the film is slow moving anyway; but watch her in things like "Whom the Gods Destroy" (1934) with Walter Connolly:...

"The Fighting Legion" (1930) Ken Maynard

I'm curious: I watched this last night and wondered if anyone here could possibly tell me the production dates. It was released 6 April 1930, but appears to me to be an earlier production. Am I all wrong? Anyway, here's a review I placed somewhere else, and in case you're curious about this - I want...
