Yesterday (March 28) was the birthday of the great Edward Wagenknecht. Among his many books (!) is, of course, THE MOVIES IN THE AGE OF INNOCENCE. In my opinion, this is, and always will be, the single most important book ever written on the silent era. And I know that this is the view of most serious fans of the silent film.
I have just posted a tribute to Professor Wagenknecht on my web site entitled REMEMBERING EDWARD WAGENKNECHT.
Please check it out at: http://www.charlesdickensonscreen.com" target="_blank
And I am delighted and honored to note that Anthony Slide has contributed a wonderful account of his friendship with Professor Wagenknecht.
Thanks!

Re: Remembering Edward Wagenknecht
That was one of the first books I checked out of my local library. I have a beautiful first edition on my bookshelf now. Now let me go read your tribute. Thanks for posting
