:D Robert Israel just opened a new Website. There are lots of clips and sound-bites of his music. Here is a link. Please give him some nice feedback at your convenience.

Great news! And really, it's about time. I only wish there was a comprehensive list of his work on the website. I've been trying to create one for a couple years but everytime I think I have it complete, I find another work to add to it. Guess I need to finish what I know and send it to him to go over or post it here and let others fill in the blanks. Thank you for the heads up about the site.

Terrific, and I love the website! Robert is really one the best in terms of silent film scoring, truly classic. Whenever I need an idea for a script I just listen to Robert and the ideas flow. Amazing talent!

A terrific site, Robert! Glad to hear you're working on THE LOST WORLD—I certainly enjoyed your score for the Image DVD. Are you performing that or writing a new score?

Hello, Jack!

I prepared a new score for THE LOST WORLD earlier this year for a live performance, but there are no plans to record this new version which I have done. It is significantly different from the recorded version and I still marvel at the incredible work performed by David Shepard and Serge Bromberg in preparing the restored edition for DVD. I believe that I have heard that they have unearthed even more material on this film, but I know nothing about it...but, I would not be surprised. David and Serge are amazing with what they recover in film material, but it is even more impressive with how much of their own personal resources they endow in each new project they produce.

Thank you, once again, Jack.

Dear People,

I would like to suggest, please, that those who wish to contact me directly write their letters to me through the "Contact" page at my website. I am not often on Nitrateville these days and I have found messages that I had been sent to me many, many weeks ago, and in some cases, many months in the past. So, please forgive my late reply, however, you may feel assured that I will receive messages more promptly through the method I have suggested.

Thank you so very much.

Sincerely,

Robert Israel
