I looked it up on my phone, but there is no connection to order it.

How do I order?

You order through Paypal at http://silentfilmquarterly.com/subscribe-to-sfq/. I subscribed this weekend, and the first issue should arrive soon.

Waiting for mine as well. I read on their Facebook page that August 16 was the cutoff date for a subscription to begin with issue #1. You can still order a seperate first issue, now in it's third printing.

Got mine in the mail yesterday. A beautiful little magazine, with production values far above the price. I haven't had a chance to do more than flip through it but I'm impressed so far.

I got mine in the mail yesterday. I've only had time to glance through it, but it looks slickly produced. Plenty of photos.

On principle, I'm skeptical of websites that promise wonderful productions of anything without providing any information at all about who is involved in it -- why are none of the people involved in Silent Film Quarterly identified by name? Where is it being produced? etc.

But on the faith of N'Villains who have reported receiving their copy and being impressed by it, I have gone ahead and ordered the first issue for myself.

If it's really that good, I'll order a subscription. Hopefully by that time our stupid Canadian loonie (the dollar, not me) will have gone up a bit in value instead of its current appalling rate of 74 cents to the USD. At that rate, even a $25 subscription fee can be painful in the wallet.

Is this a substantial magazine in terms of pagination?

The only name is that of Charles Epting. I assume he's done the first issue by himself. 6 x 9 and 56 pages.

I don't have my issue in front of me, but Annette Lloyd has an article in it on the Moving Picture World magazine. I think that the whole thing is put together by Mr. Epting, although he is only writing some of the content.

Wait, so if you haven't signed up yet, you can't get the first issue? What's up with that?

Nevermind, I misread an earlier post.

I contacted TSQ today. Apparently there was a large bulk order that delayed several orders but the mailing should be caught up in a day or two.

This looks pretty cool; I'm now a subscriber. And I haven't subscribed to a printed periodical in a couple of decades. Really looking forward to this.

I also subscribed, but not in time for the first issue so I ordered that separately. Looking forward to receiving it.

This reminded me of that periodical put out about 20 yrs ago by Gene Vazzana. I think it was the Silent Film Monthly. I have all the issues packed away somewhere, but haven't looked at them in years.

This is so enticing, that I signed up plucking $15.00 for the yearly rate. Would I still get the first issue?

Please say that I will, and join the happy Nitrateville members who have obtained the first issue. :D
