w.Geraldine Farrar and Lou Tellegen. Frank Lloyd directed. Goldwyn built a huge St. Petersburg streetscape for parades and revolutionary rallies. Farrar wears a heavily bejeweled gown when doing a scene from the opera Thais. Kinda pokey until the Reds rise up and decide to requisition women. Now on-line at European Gateway:

I wonder if this is the European cut? I kept waiting for this scene to show up:

...but it never did. Could just be a cutting room floor shot, although I suspect the English language sign might have been frowned on for screenings in the old country.
