Footage of lost Charley Chase silent discovered

Unread post by JLNeibaur » Thu Oct 19, 2017 7:02 pm

My friend Junko Iio in Japan has discovered around 50 seconds of footage from the lost Charley Chase silent comedy WHY MEN WORK (1924). This footage exists on 35mm stock as a toy film and was discovered by Junko at the Toy Film Museum in Kyoto, with founder Yoneo Ota. It features Charley Chase struggling to be a newsreel camera man. Any time even a piece of footage from the silent era is discovered it is worth celebrating. I got this information from Facebook via author and film historian Steve Massa.

Any time ANY piece of Chase-iana turns up is a cause for celebration.

I await the day somebody finds his missing railway car full of memorabilia and, god willing, pristine nitrate originals of every film he ever made.
