I was going to order a batch, but it doesn't allow me to enter more than one discount code, and if I buy them all separately, each one gets shipping individually added. Is there any other way to buy them?

I emailed. If you can give me a total, I can PayPal it to you.

Yeah, this is clearly one of the issues they never resolved with the eStores; I imagine they're designed for single purchases. This, and some other reasons, are probably why the eStore pages are being discontinued after Oct 31.

The total for the DVDs I would like to buy is $120 plus $6 shipping. Can I PayPal that to you since the shopping cart system doesn't work?

Just to let everyone know, I emailed and Ben took care of the order himself. All is well and I have a lot of great viewing coming my way soon.

Yes, thank you for contacting me. I was able to help a few people trying to place orders for multiple discs, a function which the eStore shopping cart does not support all that well.

A European fan/customer who contacted me told me about "WOW.HD" as a site to buy Grapevine and Warner Archive titles from without having to deal with the added customs/int'l fees you get with Amazon.

Anyone here dealt with "WOW.HD"?

Hi Ben.

I wanted to let you know that I was invited to a big convention of student animators in Burbank, and afterwards a gaggle of them stopped by my house to see some films. I put the first Accidentally Preserved disc up on my projection system and the crowd was fascinated. Some of them had seen some Chaplin and Keaton, but most of them didn't know much about silent film. During the screening they were madly scribbling in their sketchbooks to record great setups, and afterwards they were all talking about what great reference silent films are for animation. I showed them all the discs I got from you and a bunch took out their cell phones to shoot the covers so they could ask for them for Christmas. Good show!

Bigshot, it makes me want to pound my head against a wall, but I'd probably have to be trying to keep Tommy Joe Stathes from jumping out a window....

Bigshot, thanks for sharing the rare silent films on AP with animators! Silent comedy filmmaking is making cartoons with real people and real things!

I missed the flash sale but still purchased Vol 1 AP as I was trying to find out how The Water Plug 1920 started and ended since my 16 mm print was missing the opening title and credits and 3 minutes of the short film's ending. The Undercrank version was clearer than the print I have and I did not have to watch the short comedy completely silent thanks to the great musical score.

Thanks Ben,
Dana

Dana, so glad you enjoyed the disc and THE WATER PLUG. Several of the Billy Franey shorts from this Reelcraft series have turned up in the last few years at the Library of Congress, most of them in very sharp 1930s 16mm prints, as well as a couple on 35mm. Most of the ones we've found and looked at are quite clever and funny, and all of those have one thing in common -- they were directed by Grover Jones. My print is an old dupe of a Home Film Libraries Inc. print, and I assume there's even better material on it somewhere.
