Hello Shorty and Welcome.
I still break out the small gage a couple times a year and love it. Kids of this era can be fascinated by the projected image which is on the road to extiction.
Is it just me, or did Standard 8 have better density than Super 8? I bought some Standard 8 prints that had excellent conrtrast and density and nearly all of the Super 8's I bought later could never match it, although the frame size was bigger.

Single 8 came out in '32, and many of the shorts and other subjects sparkled usually because of fine grain masters or top-dupes of 16 as reduction. Super 8 in '65 stil miantains alot of that sharpness, not as much, but I'll still match any of mine to a 16 -Stay in touch - Oh, I don't think the 8mm gauges are extinct, as Derann still releases Super 8 to a large collecting world
