Friday Silent Summit 2-13-09

Post by Lokke Heiss » Thu Feb 12, 2009 2:37 am

Not a lot of advance time, but I'm in LA for the rest of the week, and Frederica and I are trying to organize a dinner this Friday for anyone who is fans or are involved in silent film.

We did this two years ago at the Cat and Fiddle, and we had a good crowd show up.

We're kicking around the location in LA, probably starting 7 to 8 pm.

If any readers of this list are interested, and want to meet some of us, you can respond on this site, or e-mail us.

Let us know if you're interested in meeting a bunch of 'silent partners.'

Great idea! I'd love to come, if only it weren't so far!
Have a good time!

Hey Lokke, check your PM mailbox while you're at it (look just to Joan Blondell's right).

Thanks everyone for a great evening, terrific restaurant. I'd recommend El Caserio to anyone. That, and a helicopter to drop you directly into the bar, so that you don't have to find and follow &*%$# Silver Lake Road.

It was especially fun to solve the Arbuckle case, with that new evidence. Cold case closed, I'd say.

THUNK. (Vamp hits floor, tiny mewling noises). Thanks so much for that, Lokke! I think this may be payback for picking a really good restaurant in the locational minefield that is Silverlake. I'd quaffed two cocktails by the time Lokke arrived, wild-eyed in frustration and a pale shadow of his former self.
