Glad you received yours. Hope you like the films!
Nothing else I've sent out (packages) since December 26 (!!!!!!) has been delivered by USPS. NOTHING. Everything is lost in the "in transit" limbo from which few packages ever escape. Very frustrating.

I have been looking for it every day.
We have had postal problems in my area. Several local postal workers have been ill with Covid, & back in April my local post office was closed down for a while when one postal employee there died of Covid.
I ordered a stained glass trinket for a friend's Christmas present. The crafter mailed it directly from Philly'svwestern suburbs to my friends in Philly's northern suburbs. It only needed to travel 2 counties & it was mailed a week before Christmas. It was promised for delivery on Dec 26. They still haven't received it.
So I will keep looking & I will absolutely allert you when it comes

I have looked in my mail every day, but it still hasn't arrived.
I did have a present email to friends in Philadelphia area. The present only had to go 2 counties. It was mailed a week before Christmas and it just got to them. We traced it and it's been time in Miami Florida. I think it just wanted to go for the warm weather for the winter.
Crazy as that Odyssey was, the piece of stained glass got to my friends in one piece....after traveling the eastern seaboard on a 1000 mile detour....for a month.
So I will still keep looking daily & will let you know when it arrives. I expect it to have multiple country stickers, like folks used to do to the steamer trunks back in the day. It has had time to give Marie a fine Grand Tour!

The post office isn't even consistent...I complained about a disc from Thunderbean in Michigan to my address in Brooklyn taking over a month, but on the other hand I recently got a disc from the UK (the Lupino Lane Blu Ray) in about a week from the ship date.

I'm down to TWO undelivered packages and both are in the Philadelphia area. The other two MONTH-LONG deliveries were in the Detroit area ... but at least they finally were delivered. Good thing they weren't fruitcakes or xmas cookies!

It took over a month for my friends to get their Christmas present. Normally I would see them, before Covid. The present had to go 2 counties! I could have walked it there in less time!
It did get there , undamaged( a stained glass star), so in Pennsylvania the post office isn't breaking stuff, just sending them on crazy Odysseys!
I keep looking EVERY DAY - even Sundays( yes, I have seen the mail truck coming down my street on Sunday & I imagine it is full of everything that was 'found' during the week). My poor mail carrier-she seems to be working such long hours.

So, this got me to look up more info on Marie Doro. She was from PA, but it is a large & quite varied state. What are the chances ( unless she was from the Philly Area) that I would know her home town?
As it turns out....100%.
I read that she came from Duncannon, PA.
It is a small town bordered on its east side by the Susquehanna River about 20 miles north of Harrisburg. It is a tiny bend in the road with a few shops & now truck stops on either side of the main road. The river there is beautiful & wide, but there isn't much there. So why do I know the place?
The state of PA built a highway....Rt 22/322 from Harrisburg to Penn State Univ ( so that folks could get from the Turnpike to State College) & it goes across the Susquehanna River at Duncannon. It is the ONLY place to get gas, snacks , or a bathroom for MILES up that road. Two of my 4 kids went/go to Penn State, so I have gone through there many times.
My next trip( my youngest is a Junior at the Univ), I will be thinking of Marie Doro.....& sending her a wave when we stop.

Marie, and her parents, are buried there, not far from route 22:

I just looked that up,& the cemetery is quite close to the stop where I make sure I have had & potty time .I will have to try to make a detour to there.
Marie Doro did make it to my mailbox today. She wasn't there long.I left for the supermarket with an empty mailbox,& came home to find Marie. We are expecting snow tomorrow, so I am glad she is not bouncing around in the cold.
Thanks so much to Ed for your kindness(& extra effort given the post office has been such a mess).
I may save Marie Doro for my birthday movie. For several years I've been treating myself to watching a silent movie I've never seen before on my birthday or very close to it. I share a birthday with Anita Garvin, so that will be coming in less than 2 weeks.
Thanks for the birthday present
