Hey Gang,
Due to the planned remodeling of the Spectrum Theater this Summer, Slapsticon 2009 has been cancelled. We were waiting to see if Arlington County was actually going to go through with it, and apparently they are.
This is only a this-year thing, we tried to relocate to a different venue, but didn't find anything that worked as a hotel-theater combination for us in the Arlington/Wash DC area. We'll announce the dates for Slapsticon 2010 at the Spectrum Theater sometime in the fall.
Sorry for the disapointment, but actually this is probably a good year for a hiatus, gives you all a chance to save your dollars in this lousy economy and I certainly have no problem with taking a break and perhaps getting a real vacation this year. We already had a great schedule put together for 2009, and added with any new discoveries will make it an even more terrific schedule in 2010.
Stay tuned, see you next year!

Sorry to hear about this Richard.
Did you try the House of Representatives?
It's in the D.C. area and as I understand it only about half of it's members are actually at work there. The rest seem to be on some kind of sabbatical awaiting the collapse of our entire financial structure so I would think that there would be plenty of room to set up some projectors and a screen.
Just a thought........
