That was a very bad, not to mention tasteless crack and I am not amused.

It's actually from the Emerson Hough novel--a follow up to the same author's THE COVERED WAGON. (Which NORTH OF 36 was, not surprisingly, compared to at the time of its orig. release--favorably, by the way.)Gagman 66 wrote:OK, Isn't this another Zane Gray Paramount Western? I was not even aware that a print still existed. So very good news. :

Another silent booked for Capitolfest: A SHIP COMES IN (Pathe, 1928) directed by William K. Howard and starring Rudolph Schildkraut and Louise Dresser. Our last year's R. Schildkraut movie in 16mm (HIS PEOPLE) went over so well that we thought we'd try one in 35mm this year. It'll be accompanied by Avery Tunningley on the organ and will run Friday afternoon (Aug. 12).

This is an enviable line up. Le sigh, why is it I can bring myself to LA when it is Le Hot and not Rome when it is Le Hot & Le Humid?romecapitol wrote:Another silent booked for Capitolfest: A SHIP COMES IN (Pathe, 1928) directed by William K. At the Capitolfests I've attended, Rome hasn't been humid. (Other parts of upstate are awful; Albany, a few hours east, is LOUSY with humidity in August.)Frederica wrote:How about Le Cold? And my good friends Le Cold and Le Snow are not around at all for Capitolfest.

It *is* occasionally fuming, and almost always filthy.Rob Farr wrote:Is it fetid?LouieD wrote:I gotta tell you, I have been going to Capitolfest for 5 years now and I can never remember it being hot or humid.rudyfan wrote:This is an enviable line up.
